As a faith-based counselor, I integrate both secular and Christian approaches, customizing my methods to meet your unique needs. One of my preferred questions for new clients is, “What will life look like when you come into my office and say, ‘Life is smooth, I’m succeeding, and I feel great?’” This inquiry establishes a meaningful framework for our collaboration, as my objective is not to have you in counseling indefinitely, but to equip you with valuable skills for your life’s toolbox. Together, we will lay the groundwork for lasting wholeness and fulfillment.
I believe that everyone can benefit from having a therapist who supports and encourages them in life. I am passionate about understanding individuals as unique persons and emphasize that counseling is not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ model. Actively listening to and genuinely hearing a client’s story is essential for effective counseling. I strive to meet clients where they are and guide them in exploring God’s redemptive love and grace in their lives. I am committed to providing compassionate and professional counseling, incorporating faith-based services. I believe that without Jesus, cycles of behavior and issues cannot be truly broken.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Counseling, a Bachelor of Science in Leadership, and a Bachelor of Science in Education, with minors in Old and New Testament studies from Lee University. Additionally, I obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Malone University, with a minor in Marriage and Family Counseling.
Currently, I am completing a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, specializing in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling, as well as Trauma, Crisis, and Somatic Research at Walden University. I am scheduled to defend my dissertation in October 2026.
I am an active member of several professional organizations, including:
• American Counseling Association
• American Association of Christian Counselors
• Ohio Counseling Association
I have been married to my husband, Stephen, for 19 years, and we are the proud parents of five biological daughters, as well as adopted daughters. This diverse parenting experience has deepened my understanding that effective parenting is tailored to each individual child, rather than adhering to a singular model.
Together, Stephen and I serve as lead pastors at Faith Fellowship Church in Youngstown, Ohio, where I fulfill my calling in youth ministry. Prior to my role as a senior pastor, Stephen and I worked as youth pastors, both full-time for three years and part-time for five.
As a dedicated counselor specializing in PTSD, trauma recovery, healing from sexual abuse, and family dynamics—including parenting and marriage—my commitment is to support you on your journey toward healing and wholeness. Through our collaboration, you can expect to experience increased emotional resilience, enhanced relationships, a sense of safety and control, and greater self-awareness.
When reflecting on my strengths, I believe in embracing the imperfect moments of life rather than striving for unattainable perfection. Acknowledging our imperfections enriches our experiences and highlights our need for a Savior. My goal is to cultivate an atmosphere where clients feel safe, secure, loved, accepted, and free from judgment. Once this foundation is established, we can focus on the individual growth and healing each client seeks. By fostering an environment of acceptance and understanding, we empower clients to explore their challenges openly, develop resilience, and embrace their authentic selves, facilitating meaningful progress toward personal goals and enhancing overall well-being.

For the past 28 years, I have been fueled by an unwavering passion for transformation and healing in the fields of addiction and mental health! My journey has been an incredible, high-energy pursuit of excellence, and I wake up every single day driven by the belief that everyone—regardless of their past or their current circumstances—deserves access to the absolute highest standard of care.
Throughout my nearly three-decade career, I have intentionally immersed myself in every facet of the behavioral health landscape. I’ve hit the ground running in fast-paced outpatient clinics, navigated the deep therapeutic work of residential and inpatient facilities, and stepped into the complex, high-stakes environment of the corrections system. This diverse background has given me a 360-degree view of the human experience, allowing me to connect with both children and adults from all walks of life. One of the proudest milestones of my career was receiving the Arizona Department of Corrections Director’s Award for effective programming. This recognition serves as a constant reminder of what is possible when we combine innovative strategy with a heart for service.
My counseling philosophy is where my clinical skills and my faith come together. I believe that every person I encounter is a unique individual deserving of dignity, grace, and the highest level of professional excellence. My faith provides the foundation for my empathy and my unwavering optimism, even when tackling the heavy burdens of addiction and mental illness. I approach every session with an energetic spirit, aiming to ignite a spark of change in my clients that leads to a lifetime of wellness.
My true power lies in my clinical "toolkit." While I firmly embrace the foundational theory of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I am a firm believer that one size never fits all in counseling. To provide the best care possible, I have mastered a wide-ranging arsenal of evidence-based modalities. I am deeply proficient in:
• Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Helping clients find the balance between acceptance and change.
• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Guiding individuals to live a values-driven life despite their psychological pain.
• Mindfulness: Teaching the art of being present and finding calm within the storm.
• Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT): Empowering survivors to reclaim their lives from the grip of trauma.
• Neurolinguistic Psychology (NLP): Utilizing the connection between neurological processes and language to shift behavioral patterns rapidly.
I don’t just "practice" therapy; I live and breathe the art of counseling. My approach is energetic, empathetic, and relentlessly focused on results. My mission is to provide transformative, faith-honoring, and clinically superior care to every single person I serve. I am ready to take on the next challenge and continue making a difference, one life at a time! Whether I am working with a child discovering their coping skills for the first time or an adult navigating the complexities of recovery, I aim to provide a dynamic, safe, and empowering space for growth. I am here to challenge the status quo of mental health care and to ensure that every individual I work with walks away with the tools, the confidence, and the support they need to thrive!
